This film is more than a documentary, it holds pain with truth and calls for change.

About The Film
Women with the Issue of Blood (WWIB) is a cinematic, faith informed documentary that amplifies the voices of Black women whose pain has too often gone unseen, unheard, and untreated within the United States healthcare system. Centered on real lived experiences, the film explores the intersection of reproductive health, medical neglect, faith, and justice.
Inspired by the biblical account of the woman who suffered for years before touching the hem of Jesus’ garment, the film weaves sacred scripture with personal testimony. Stories of uterine fibroids, chronic bleeding, hormonal imbalance, delayed diagnosis, and generational endurance reveal the physical and emotional toll of being dismissed in medical spaces.
Through intimate interviews, expert insight, and historical context, Women with the Issue of Blood examines how systemic inequities, medical bias, and limited health literacy continue to shape Black women’s reproductive health outcomes. While the film does not shy away from the realities of pain and neglect, it ultimately centers faith, resilience, and the possibility of healing.
At its core, Women with the Issue of Blood is a call to remembrance and restoration. It invites viewers to believe women sooner, confront injustice honestly, and participate in a movement toward advocacy, awareness, and holistic healing, ensuring that no woman’s body, blood, or voice is dismissed again.
